attempted poetry of fools

Every man saw her dance

how lonesome did we act

and all of us
would beg for a romance

Most of us could tell how she would react

The hunger in our eyes

the quest for the right word

which lasts every little lie

She knows how she must hurt

when she pretents she hasn't heard

Attempted Poetry of Fools

All the letters she gets

Every word that is said
The hunger in our eyes

the quest for the right word

and every little lie

she knows how to hurt

with every little word

with every little word

Every man says 'I don't care'

and so we smile

night after night after night

the masks we have to wear

are sealed on the face

and out of sight

how lonesome we all cried

The hunger in our eyes

the quest for the right word

and every little lie

she knows how to hurt

with every little word

Pretends she hasn't heard
Attempted Poetry of Fools

Words could never steal her heart

We all make her feel like a queen

and that's the way
i

t has always been

So every lonesome man

how hpeloess will he pray
for the right words to say
